Miles is set to become a major regional centre – an “inland port” connecting road and rail.
Many mining and power projects are already underway in the region and plans for a railway link between the Surat Basin and Gladstone Port will open up direct access for importing and exporting.
Located at the crossroads of the Leichhardt and Warrego Highways, Miles is a central point between Rockhampton and Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba and Roma, and is expected to become a transport hub linking Sydney and Gladstone.
Miles is also a service centre for the surrounding towns of Wandoan, Dulacca, Drillham and Condamine.
Amongst this excitement and population growth, Miles remains rich with history, tranquil surroundings and country charm.
